We are all afraid of losing our loved ones, but when they leave us, in addition to strong what can we do? Place a guardian angel in their graveyard and let the angel watch over them forever. Angel Haserot statue, created in 1924, is one of the most eerie graveyard sculptures in the world, especially in America.
This weeping angel statue is located in Lake View Cemetery in Central Cleveland. In addition, it is a green tombstone that stands out incredibly against the background of the cemetery.
However, the sculpture of the Statue of the Weeping Angel is officially known as the Triumph of the Angel of Death.
Haserot Angle is located in Cleveland’s University Circle neighborhood. There’s a cemetery there called Lakeview Cemetery. There are over 100,000 local graves here.
Exquisite sculptures and impeccable landscape made the cemetery famous. However, historians, artists, and photographers who frequent the cemetery often look for one particular sculpture: Hasselot’s angel.
The bronze sculpture of Angel Haseroth was created by Danish sculptor Hermann N. Matzen. Originally from Detroit, he studied in Europe before returning to the United States. He is one of Cleveland’s most famous artists.
When Matzen died in 1938, he was buried in the same cemetery as his famous angel sculpture. He built Angels for the Haselot family. Francis Haseroth was part of a very successful canning company founded in the late 19th century. He died at the age of 93.
The Hasselot Angel in Lakeview Cemetery is a life-size bronze statue. She turned the extinguished flashlight upside down. Her wings spread wide and dazzling. She sat on the Hasselot family grave, staring straight ahead.
According to legend, she mourned the dead. To make everything even scarier and darker, the tears are black.
Her haunting eyes seemed to weep as black tears spilled all over her cloak. Some say that she, as it were, declares an empty victory over life. Some tourists claim to have seen the angels move or cry while watching.
Today the cemetery is visited by lovers of Gothic art, as well as historians, sculptors and photographers. As you may have guessed, their focus is on checking Angel Haseroth and her black tears.
However, the real reason for her tears was bronze, the material from which Hasselot’s Angel was made. Discoloration and condensation on the bronze made itself felt over time.
The actual answer to Hasselot’s angelic tears is that they are actually black spots and not tears at all.
