Henry Moore Festival bronze to break Henry Moore auction record

HenryMoore

It's been called a "monster" and it's a very bad piece of art that should be buried, not put on display. But more people consider it a work of genius and Henry Moore claims it is one of his finest works and is expected to break auction records later this year as the most expensive sculpture ever made by a British artist.
When Moore's bronze semi-abstract figure was first exhibited as the centerpiece of the British Festival in 1951, people stopped. This is shocking and disturbing. Many people like it. Some people hate it. This amuses many.
It caused huge controversy while on long-term loan from Leeds City and was damaged by blue paint in 1953.
Moore called it one of his most important sculptures and the first "where I succeeded in making form and space sculpturally inseparable."
Estimated at $30 million to $40 million (£27.2 million to £36.2 million), this is the highest estimate for a work by Moore or any British sculptor. The current auction record is held by another edition of the Reclining Figure which sold for £24.7 million in 2016 when it was valued at £15-20 million.
Moore, one of the most famous sculptors in the world at the time, was commissioned by the Arts Council to create a work for the British Festival in London.
Another article by the old Rector of Wetherby states that the sculpture is “a human form in a late stage of decomposition, disembowelled, partly decapitated, feet severed… I was reading the Leeds Art Gallery. The subcommittee accepted it. I'm sure they will bury him well."
Moore refused to participate in this line. “I think it is wrong for the artist himself to get involved in these disputes,” he said. “In the long run, these things will resolve themselves. If I get involved in an argument, I will never be able to do anything.”
The Reclining Figure was withdrawn from exhibition in 1956, loaned to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh in 1961, and entered its collection in 1969. It still exists today, fortunately.
The original plaster sculpture of the reclining figure is in the Tate collection, while other casts are in museum collections, including the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris.

Moore acknowledged that the work would be a milestone in his career and collaborated with BBC director John Reid to document the process.
Oliver Barker, chairman of Sotheby's Europe, called the work one of the best sculptures of the 20th century. "It's a very creative work that fits perfectly into the atmosphere of post-war London," he said.

Now Moore's sculptures are becoming more and more popular, and people appreciate their abstract artistry, perfect detail well polish and extraordinary meaning. Henry Moore also became one of the world's most famous artists.

Same with other all world famous sculptures, Henry Moor's masterpieces are undeniably very expensive. In fact, this is the truth, all world famous art statues are beyond the reach of ordinary people. Except modern famous sculptures, there are more ancient world famous sculptures. The originals of these sculptures are not only visible in museums, they are also not available for purchase.

But why can we sometimes see some famous sculptures in ordinary homes, public or outdoors? That's because those are all replicas to meet the need of ordinary people. So this requires that you must choose the right supplier. Excellent suppliers can restore the original sculpture to the greatest extent.
