Guanyin is both a Bodhisattva and the most revered folk god. She is an oriental goddess who "saves people from suffering and great mercy" to save people from disaster. Guanyin was originally the left retinue of Amitabha. As early as the seventh century BC, when Buddhism had not yet come into being, there was "Guanyin" in India (today's India). However, at that time, Guanyin was not a Buddha or a human being, but a pair of lovely twin ponies, a kind and powerful "good god".
